Pike Township Trustees Regular
Tuesday, January 22nd,  2008

 

Regular Meeting

 

President Doug Baum called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.  Trustees Lee Strad and Don Charnetzky were present as well as Fiscal Officer Steve Knox.  Others in attendance were Nancy Collier, Nancy Cramer, Clarence Flowers, Sharon Perrine, Mark Pahanish, and Gary Alkire

 

A motion was made by Charnetzky accepting the minutes and financials as presented.  Seconded by Strad.

           

1st Public Speaks Session

Nothing at this time.

 

New Business

 

Strad stated that we need to have a record retention meeting.  Baum agreed to have it March 3rd at 7:15 p.m.

Also, the Trustees agreed to have a work session meeting/road crew meeting on February 29th at 7:00 a.m. at the Township.

A motion was made by Strad to accept the two proposed meetings.  Seconded by Charnetzky.

Strad asked if we wanted to revisit implementing a time clock and/or security cameras.  They agreed to review the subject at the work session.

Baum said that he went to the East Sparta Village meeting and they are open to having a meeting to discuss/review a CEDA.

A motion was made by Charnetzky to have a meeting with the Village of East Sparta to discuss the CEDA on February 1st at the Village Hall at 7:00 p.m. Seconded by Strad.

The speed study was done and the first ¼ mile East of Cleveland Ave was reduced to 35 mph.

James Davis is resigning from the Zoning Commission member.  Baum talked to Dan Stallman and doesn’t seem overly interested but is holding out hope..

Baum went to the park board meeting and discussed some of the things that they are doing.  The Township Trustees said they are more than willing to do what they can to help the Park Board.

 

Perrine also said that the Zoning Commission has a work session and they need someone to open and close the building.  Baum stated that he would.

 

Old Business

Postponed the road crew meeting that was supposed to be on Friday morning, February 1st at 7:00 a.m.

 

 

Financial Report

Nothing at this time.

 

Road Report

 

Pahanish read the road report.

Patched holes.

Working on Martin Drive.

Other Miscellaneous items.

 

 

Zoning Report

Perrine read the road report.

She has been checking on Valley Mining and making sure they are complying with the Board of Zoning Appeals variance.

More communications between our attorney and Stanley Miller Construction’s attorney dealing with more issues.
