Regular Meeting

 

President Doug Baum called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.  Trustees Lee Strad and Don Charnetzky were present as well as Fiscal Officer Steve Knox.  Others in attendance were, Clarence Flowers,  Nancy Cramer, Dave Collier, David Ross, Arnie Adams, Louis Grooms, Paul Mosberger, Gary Alkire, Robert Kimble, Nancy Collier, Zoning Inspector Sharon Perrine, and Road Supervisor Mark Pahanish.

 

A motion was made by Charnetzky accepting the minutes and financials as presented.  Seconded by Strad.

           

1st Public Speaks Session

 

At 3:00 p.m. this Wednesday, August 20th, a group will be meeting at the Township Hall to go on a tour of a mining operation.

 

Louis Grooms stated that there was an accident on Maplehurst and the State Highway Patrol said that it’s a Township Road and the Township can set the speed limit.  Baum said we can’t set the speed limits as of yet, although there is a potential House Bill that may change that.

 

There have been 54 people who have called and reserved blue address signs with 35 already installed by the fire department.  The Township is donating $1,500 towards the purchase of blue address marker signs for Township residents.  Each sign is $15.00

 

Arnie Adams said that he has 6 people who have filled out applications to become possible volunteer fire department.

 

A motion was made by Strad to go into executive session for fire contract negotiations.  Seconded by Charnetzky.

 

A motion was made by Strad to adjourn executive session.  Seconded by Charnetsky.

 

New Business

 

Strad said that there is a zoning commission meeting next Monday on a possible text change to the zoning book.

Resolution #11-2008

Strad made a motion to appoint Mayor Cicchenelli Jr. to the 9-1-1 Planning Committee.  Seconded by Charnetzky.

Helped with funerals

Pahanish wants to chip and Seal Howenstine which will cost about 3000 to 4000 gallons at $3.00 per gallon, so around $12,000.  The Trustees okayed this.

Pahanish asked if they could keep there hours at 6:00 a.m. for another month or should they go to the scheduled 7:00 time.  The Trustees said 7:00.

Slurry seal on Briggle would cost about $24,000.  The Trustees decided to chip and seal it for around $10,000 and Strad wants them to mist it with primer first which everyone agreed to.
