Regular Meeting

 

President Doug Baum called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.  Trustees Lee Strad and Don Charnetzky was present as well as Fiscal Officer Steve Knox.  Others in attendance were Nancy Collier, Nancy Cramer, Chris Lehman, Paul Mosberger, Gary Alkire, Dave Collier, Louis Grooms, David Ross, Arnie Adams, Sharon Perrine, and Mark Pahanish.

 

A motion was made by Charnetzky accepting the minutes and financials as presented.  Seconded by Strad.

           

1st Public Speaks Session

 

Rob, Representing Kimble mining.  The neighbors, had an event last Monday, that brought some concerns.  A large explosion around 5:30 happened last week and it made the neighbors a little weary.  134 decipals is the allowable amount from an explosion.  Some residents have had problems in the past from other mining operations.

 

Joe Barnes II, stated that the blast was very big at 5:30.  His doors shook, and house shook.  He is just concerned that things will be destroyed like.

He is probably ¾ of a mile. 

 

Rob from Kimble Mining, stated that ODNR did put out a report which states at what level will things be affected by the blasting.

 

How many people have done pre-blasting survey? Rob said he didn’t know, but he encourages people do the pre-blasting survey. 

 

Charnetzky asked if they set up a seismograph.  Rob said yes.

 

John Miller thanked the Trustees for the donations to the NI Post American Legion every year for the flags for the cemetery.  The other thing is, he wanted to talk about American Legions.  They are all having problems financially and he would appreciate any donations they can get.

 

Louis Grooms thanked the guys for mowing Maplehurst road and doing such a great job.

Mosquitos are getting terrible and would like the spraying to start.

 

Dave Collier thanked everyone that helped with the homecoming, and the parade was the biggest so far.

Old Business

Strad sent in the rest of the bills into the State of Ohio Dept. of Transportation for the East Sparta Ave. project and should be re-imbursed.

 

Baum reminded everyone that the next Township meeting will be at the Dueber Station, with Hot Dogs and Hamburgs being cooked at 7:00.

 

Also, our September 15th at 7:30 p.m. our regular meeting at Countywide Landfill.

 

  

Sherriff’s Report

Deputy Evanoff read the police report.

Had 23 calls, with 20 different reports.  18 traffic stops, with 19 citations.  Took 2 people to jail, and issued a summon to a resident.

 

Financial Report

 

Cut check to NI American Legion for flags $200

Security cameras.

 

Charnetzky made a motion to move $25,000 from 01-L-02 materials to 01-K-04 Equipment Purchases and Replacements.  Seconded by Strad.

Road Report

Pahanish read the road report.

Mowing roads.

Cleaned up trees.

New bed is on the pickup

Hauled dirt from school to shop and cemetery.

The Trustees agreed to $80K for Ann Jean and Deerwood Circle.

Zoning and Cemetery vehicle, state bid price, $17,662 for a 2009 Ford Escape. Wendell Ford said that it would sell the same vehicle for $17,337.

Strad made a motion to purchase the truck from Wendell Ford for $17,337.  Seconded by Charnetzky.

7 trees on Briggle for $700 was okayed by the Trustees.

 

Tractor is $29,000, plus the mower is 15K to 19K.  60 Horsepower.
