Regular Meeting

 

President Doug Baum called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.  Trustees Lee Strad and Don Charnetzky were present as well as Fiscal Officer Steve Knox.  Others in attendance were Nancy Collier, Nancy Cramer, Gary Alkire, Jerry Werner, Bob Mosberger, Wayne Wood, Paul Malynn, Lester Pike, Krista Pike, Louis Grooms, David Ross, Clarence Flowers, Sharon Perrine, and Mark Pahanish.

 

A motion was made by Charnetzky accepting the minutes and financials as presented.  Seconded by Strad.

           

1st Public Speaks Session

 

Mr. Mosberger thanked the road crew for the great job they did on snow control this year.

 

Jerry Werner stated that he went to a Countywide Meeting, and stated that he was pleased that the US EPA is now involved in cleaning up the landfill.  He went on to discuss some of the details of the landfill including capping the 88 acres. 

 

David Ross stated that he would like to see a letter go out to the Mayor of Canton from the Board, stating that we would like them to move forward on the park. 

 

David Ross also stated that he supported the zone change to the Wood property.  There was further debate on the property and Baum stated that there is a meeting Monday on this property.

 

Louis Grooms said on Saturday May 17th, there is a birthday party for John Miller, from 3:00 to 5:00 at the Pike Grange.

The Trustees opened bids for the Briggle and Elson paving projects:

Strad made a motion accepting both bids from J&D mining.  Seconded by Charnetzky.

Baum stated that there is a meeting July 21st for

Strad made a motion that our regular meeting will be held at Pike Fire Station on Dueber Avenue on July 21st at 7:30 p.m.. Seconded by Charnetzky.

A motion was made by Strad to go into executive session at 8:45 for personnel.  Seconded by Charnetzky.

Sherriff’s Report

 

Evanoff read the police report.

The Trustees agreed to send Keith down for the fireworks show, for traffic control.

Flood gates are built

Working down at the Community Park. They have about 50 to 100 man hours.

The concrete is finalized that we paid for at the park.

They are also working on the bottom painting and repairing.

Working on Bowmont with Buckeye Mining.

Pahanish said the sign at the ball field needs cleaned up or a new sign put in.

Strad asked about trash barrels at the cemetery.  They are working on it.

 

 

Zoning Report

 

Perrine read the zoning report.

Reminder that there is work being done by Soehnlen on his property which has nothing to do with mining.

She will be in court Thursday afternoon for the Scott Brown hearing.
