Regular Meeting

 

President Doug Baum called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.  Trustees Lee Strad and Bob Anstine were present as well as Fiscal Officer Steve Knox.  Others in attendance were Nancy Collier, Wayne Wood, Nancy Cramer, Louis Grooms, David Ross, Clarence Flowers, Sharon Perrine, Mark Pahanish, Gary Alkire, and Dave Collier.

 

A motion was made by Anstine accepting the minutes and financials as presented.  Seconded by Strad.

           

1st Public Speaks Session

 

Deputy Keith Evanoff read his police report including 3 people to jail. 

 

New Business

Anstine said that they removed the brush at Zaleski’s. 

Anstine also called Mike Young from ODOT and thanked them for taking care of the grinding of the seams on Cleveland Ave.

The Trustees want a speed study done on Dueber by the fire station.

 

Strad asked whether we can get any more grindings.  Pahanish said currently no, but he can check to see if he can find them anywhere.

 

Baum said he did talk to Jerry Warner about the BZA alternate position.

 

 Old Business

 

A motion was made by Strad at 8:26 to go into executive session for pending litigation.  Seconded by Anstine.

A motion was made by Strad to adjourn executive session.   Seconded by Anstine.

A motion was made by Strad to instruct our attorney to appeal the annexation of the tile plant by East Sparta Village.

A motion was made by Strad to enter into a contract with the East Sparta Volunteer Fire Department for 2008 contract at $80,000 dollar with an additional $20,000 towards a new truck.  Seconded by Anstine.

Road Report

 

Worked on Martin Drive

Went to pesticide school

Received bucket for Gradall

Trailer for roller is approximately $3700.  The Trustees approved the purchase.

Canton Township is having a class on ethics which lasts about 2 hours.  The Trustees agreed that all 4 should go to the class.

 

 

 

Zoning Report

 

Went to the GIS training session for the mapping system.

Went over some other zoning matters including Stanley Miller constructions.

 

They also discussed Countywide Landfill and the issues that are occurring with them and the County.
