Regular Meeting

 

President Doug Baum called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.  Trustees Lee Strad and Bob Anstine were present as well as Fiscal Officer Steve Knox.  Others in attendance were Nancy Collier, Steve Adams, Nancy Cramer, Louis Grooms, David Ross, Gary Alkire, and Dave Collier.

 

A motion was made by Anstine accepting the minutes and financials

           

1st Public Speaks Session

 

Linda Zaleski stated that you will now see muskrat colonies and something still has the water backed up by her ditch.

 

Anstine stated that there will be a lottery and then during trapping season they will be able to trap them and then blow up the dams that were built.

 

She also ascked if we could cut the trees back like last time where her Mom used to live. 

 

Also, there is a meeting with the Oh EPA at Tusky Valley High School from 7 to 9 p.m. that will be informative to what will be happening at the landfill.   The meeting is sponsored by the OH EPA.

 

Clarence asked about the odor that is starting to come out of the landfill again.  Is something going on?  The Trustees are not aware of anything.

 

David thanked Dave Collier for the Halloween Party.  Thanked Keith for patrolling Fohl Village.

 

Deputy Evanoff thanked the Trustees for the candy that he handed out to the kids on Halloween. 

13 different calls, with 10 reports.  18 traffic stops with 16 citations. 

 

New Business

 

Anstine stated that he spoke to ODOT about the bad bumps on Cleveland Ave from Deerwood to the Don & Mary’s. 

 

Strad talked to Staley technology about a surveillance system.

 

Strad asked if we have heard anything about the CEDA agreement?  Baum said if they do anything, it will be two weeks from tonight.

 

A motion was made by Anstine send a letter to state legislators to fix the problem contigent on Thursdays EPA meeting.  Seconded by Strad.

Anstine will call Hall to draft a letter if necessary depending on the outcome of the meeting.

 

A motion was made by Strad to go into executive session for personnel.  Seconded by Anstine.

A motion was made by Strad to adjourn executive session.  Seconded by Anstine.

 

A motion was made by Strad to increase Perrine $150 starting November 1st, 2007 and will carry through January 1st, 2009.  Seconded by Anstine.

Financial Report

 

$100 to East Sparta Volunteer Women’s Auxiliary

 

Resolution # 2007 to move $50,000 from 01-L-02 to the following

01-K-11 – Other Expenses $20,000

01-A-26 – Other Expenses $20,000

01-1-06 – Insurance $10,000

 

A motion was made by Anstine to accept the resolution.  Seconded by Strad.

Road Report

Finished up Elson project.

Installed some drive culverts.

Started on Martin Drive with the widening project.

The F550 small dump has had several drive train problems.  For $2,300 dollars, that would extend the warranty for another 4 years on the engine and drive train.  The Trustees agreed to extend the warranty.

Gradall is ready for a set of tires.  The Trustees will take a look at them.
