Regular Meeting

 

President Doug Baum called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.  Trustees Lee Strad and Bob Anstine were present.  Fiscal Officer Steve Knox was out of town on business.  Others in attendance were Louis Grooms, Nancy Cramer, Linda Zaleski, Dave Collier, Zoning Inpsector Sharon Perrine, and Road Supervisor Mark Pahanish.

 

A motion was made by Anstine to accept the minutes and financial report as presented.  Seconded by Baum.

1st Public Speaks Session

 

Linda Zaleski discussed two Zoning Commission changes that have been discussed and approved by the Commission.  There is a Trustee hearing on July 2nd at 6:30.

 

Strad made a motion was made to have a special hearing on July 2nd at 6:30 for Zoning changes.  Seconded by Anstine.

Joe Barnes asked who is mowing the Bowmont Cemetery.  Anstine said he was and Joe said it was pretty high.  Barnes said that one of the other Trustees need to look at it.

Anstine said that we may need a new generator or something to fix the mower.

 

Louis Grooms asked about the response that we sent to the Health Dept.

 

 

New Business

 

Anstine said that Mr. Rehfus is going to talk to Tim Vandersol about Dueber Ave.

Anstine made a motion to reimburse the American Legion $200 for flags.

Seconded by Strad.

 

Strad said he talked to Keith’s boss, and they gave his blessing on working in the Village during the Homecoming as well as changing his hours in August.

 

 

 

Financial Report

 

Old  Business

Nothing at this time.

 

 

Zoning Report

 

Perrine discussed the possibility of reporting housing problems to the Fire Safety Inspector before the Health Department.

 

Hall and Baum went to Mr. Heade’s property and he was back and forth whether he should renew his home occupation permit.  Also, the property was in compliance thus the lawsuit was dropped.

 

 

Road Report

 

Pahanish read the road report.

Bermed East Sparta Ave. from 800 North to the Township line.

Placed a drive culvert on Newmont.

Cleaned the culverts under East Sparta Ave by the green apartment house.

Patched Stinewood Allotment.

Mold on South wall at the Township from a roof leak.  He has someone coming in to look at it. 

Middle of next week they will be paving Brinker.

Need to go up to Mt. Zion and Pleasant Lake and let him know what you want to do with it.  Anstine stated that he had the Engineers look at it and there not sure what to do with it except the landowner would need to put in asphalt or cement or something.   Strad wants to know how far we can go to make the landowner fix his drive so every time it rains it doesn’t wash the asphalt type material into everyone’s yard at the bottom of his drive.

 

Boston wants to take vacation July 20th and 23rd.  The Trustees agreed that it was okay.

 

Cats stated that they would bring one to demo.  Strad said if it is free to demo, we should definitely to that.  The Cat roller is comparable to others, but there service is  better than most.

 

The Trustees okayed $50,000 to chip and seal for the next few weeks.

Pahanish stated that we can still use Brown Township’s people and trucks.

 

Keith Evanoff has had more traffic stops than last meeting.  He had 9 calls for assistants.  Generated only 8 reports.  Had 12 traffic stops with 14 citations.  One individual was drunk going 86 on Cleveland Ave and blew a 1.80 by the church.
