Regular Meeting
Vice President Bob Anstine called the meeting to order at
A motion was made by Anstine to accept the minutes as presented. Seconded by Baum.

1st Public Speaks Session
Nancy Cramer wanted to thank Lee Strad for organizing
the neighborhood meeting concerning the landfill.
Alison developed an address list for odor complaints. She asked whether the Trustees can organize a meeting or go to the representatives on behalf of the residents.
Baum said they can definitely get in contact with
the Reps, but he wasn’t sure what the topic would be beyond what they have
already taken to them. She said odor
control as well as going over or reviewing some of the other issues that plague
the Township Residents.
She also asked whether the Township could possible
purchase a scale to use by the police so they can weigh the trash trucks more
frequently. The Trustees stated that
they could, but they are not sure that it would be the best opportunity to
spend approximately $40,000.
Also, if anyone is interested, she is asking that
anyone interested in joining a Citizens Group to be informed about what is
happening at the landfill, give her their name and number.
Last, she stated that the it came out in the
organized meeting that the EPA wants to know about any quality of life issues
that the residents are dealing with due to the landfill.
Ron Katt stated that someone at the meeting stated
that the residents can call the Auditors office to get their taxes
lowered. The Trustees agreed that this
is a viable option.
Tom O’Dell stated that he would like the Trustees to
write a letter to Countywide allowing the Sheriff to use the scales at the
landfill to weigh trucks going into the landfill to see if they are in weight. The Trustees stated that they already have
done that.

David
Ross thanked Pahanish for getting the holes filled at the entrance to
Jerry
Werner, the township odor liaison, stated that the landfill was working over
the weekend on controlling the odor. The
liquid tankers that residents asked about were hauling liquid deodorizer into
the landfill
Clarence
Flowers asked if they do any testing for air born viruses or other issues. The Trustees were not sure.
Ron
Katt asked if the Trustees could contact ODOT about fixing the “Speed Bumps” on
Nothing at this time.
Baum
wanted to publicly thank Lee Strad for the meeting with the Township residents
concerning the landfill.
Baum
also gave Pahanish a plaque that the Township won for best float in the parade.
Girl
Scouts will be planting flowers tomorrow if anyone wants to come and help.
Louis
Grooms is in the hospital and the Trustees would like prayers to go out to him
for a fast recovery.
The Budget process has
changed and will now be due in October rather than July to give everyone a
better idea of how there budgets will look.
Knox read a report by the Emergency
Management Organization.
Knox handed out vehicle
identification cards to Pahanish to put in all of the vehicles.
Also
checking to make sure people are getting permits for their buildings.
The
1st week of July is still the date set to cleanup the Sherlin
Property. The Health Department will be
there as well as a deputy.

Pahanish
stated that they received 2 40 yard boxes of trash on cleanup day.

and Sealed Seamen.
Mowed
cemetery.
Also
had a complaint about stuff they took off at the cemetery. The policy states that NO artificial flowers are
allowed in the flat stone section during mowing season. This policy is not being followed, thus
costing the mowers more time than they expected. The Trustees will discuss.
The
next cleanup day is the 3rd Saturday of June. June 17th from
Baum
asked how the chip and seal went with the slag.
Pahanish stated that it is too early to tell if it is going to stick or
not.
Pahanish
stated that they will start mosquito spraying this week.
