Regular Meeting
President Lee Strad called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Trustees Bob Anstine and Doug Baum were present, as well as Clerk Steve Knox. Others in attendance were Louis Grooms, Mark Pahanish, Bob Brunoni, Charlene Stelluto, Jackie Truax, Wayne Casto, Jerry Austin, Ben Harsle, Nancy Cramer, Jerry Eibel, Nancy Snyder, Dave Collier, John Miller, and Sharron Perrine.
A motion was made by Baum to accept the minutes and financial report as presented. Second by Anstine.
1st Public Speaks Session
John Miller stated that the Canton Local School District will be asking for donations. He went on to discuss the financial condition of the County.
Louis Grooms stated that the holes on Maplehurst are worse than ever, even though the road crew worked on them. He went on to say that Board of Zoning Appeals has a meeting Wednesday.
Mr. Casto is still concerned with the property on Maplehurst. Sharon Perrine reported that the Health Department has not responded. Strad stated that Sharon should call the owner.
Nancy and Bob Brunoni stated that the Landfill odor is still bad.
New Business
Baum stated that the quote to brick the building is $6,100. Doug made a motion to accept the bid. Seconded by Anstine. Strad agreed.
He also stated that the flag at Melscheimer’s is very worn and needs replaced.
Baum made a motion to pay for the Regional Planning Commission Annual Dinner at 23.00 each which includes the Trustees, Zoning Inspector, and the Board of Zoning Appeals and Commission. Seconded by Strad.

Strad discussed the possible annexation issue and the implications that it has on the Township. He then revisited the map to see if 2 property owners can be excluded from the annexation. He even asked about possibly having a cordial agreement in order to help each other out.
There was a long discussion that ended with the agreement that one of the Trustees(Bob) should attend the next meeting of the East Sparta Council to discuss.
Anstine stated that he went to the Township Association Convention this past week. He went on to discuss some of the issues that were covered.
Strad stated that ODOT called a meeting about the 77 ramp for the landfill traffic. Regula and Schuring have interceded to get the ramp moved up on the priority list. ODOT gave some papers to Republic about the cost of the ramp being 15.4 million to build. Republic said to go ahead, although nothing will go forward until the trial in Columbus is finished.(ERAC Trial).
There was 3 million set aside by the Waste District, but they are now not wanting to put forward that money toward the ramp.
Financial Report

Zoning
Perrine stated that Judge Sinclair will be making a ruling on the Stanley Miller case. The Trustees are now asking that the requirements be met, and for damages and legal fees to be reimbursed to the Township. The fines could amount to $20,000.
There is also a hearing on February 18th discussing the Dollinger trailer on Dueber. Discussed other issues as well.
Perrine asked about the meeting on Wednesday night and stated that the Zoning Commission felt they were being left out of the BZA working sessions. The Trustees stated that it was an open meeting and anyone could come.
Carol Barto’s nephew is having a benefit dinner.
Perrine also stated that she talked with a man who would charge $30.00 per hour to create a Township web page.
Also, a BZA member has moved out of the Township and will need replaced. Louis Grooms stated that he would accept any suggestions on nominees.

There was a public discussion on whether Pike Township should try to expand with more businesses.
