PIKE TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The Society is a volunteer organization working with other community groups. It was formed in 1999 with the intention of recording oral histories of our citizens, gathering family genealogy records and collecting items, articles and pictures relating to the history of Pike township and the Villages of East Sparta and Sandville.
Yearly Dues are: Student $5, Individuals, $10, family of 2 $15, Business $20 and Patron $35 and meet the 1st Tuesday of each month at the community building.

Volunteers have constructed the sub-floor of the log house and a contractor has been re-constructing the logs, as weather permits.

MONTHLY CLEAN UP ENDS OCTOBER 16TH.
Please bring your non-hazardous trash items to the Township Garage from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m……..Personnel will be on hand to help you unload your trash items.
Any loose (small ) items, such as kitty litter, must be in bags to aid in handling and a limit of four (4) tires per household is strictly enforced. FALL LEAF COLLECTION BEGINS IN OCTOBER. A bin will be available at the Township Garage. All leaves must be in a biodegradable bag or may be placed loosely in the bin.

The Melscheimer School property was donated by Raymond Creager in memory of his mother, Betty (Sheatzley) Creager to Pike Township to be part of the Melscheimer Cemetery property. A committee, headed by Nancy Snyder, has been formed to restore the school, as close to the original building as possible. Anyone wanting to contribute time, knowledge or money to this restoration, please do so by contacting Nancy Snyder at 330-484-2716.
